Mike Harvkey is the author of the novel, In the Course of Human Events (Soft Skull Press, 2014), a "pick of the week" by Los Angeles Magazine, The Millions, and Publishers Weekly.
Mike handled all research and reporting for the New York Times #1 bestselling true crime book, All-American Murder (Little, Brown, 2018), by Alex Abramovich & James Patterson, about convicted killer and New England Patriot Aaron Hernandez.
Mike's short fiction has appeared in Another Chicago Magazine, Alaska Quarterly Review, Mississippi Review, and Zoetrope All-Story Magazine. He is the recipient of fellowships from MacDowell and Columbia University, residencies from Obras (Portugal) and Vermont Studio Center, and winner of short story prizes from Zoetrope and Mississippi Review.
Mike has contributed to Esquire, Poets & Writers, Salon, The Believer, Nylon, Nylon Guys, Fiction Writers Review, Four & Sons, Publishers Weekly, and other publications.
He has taught Creative Writing at Columbia University, Gotham Writers Workshop, Grub Street, and the University of California, Davis.
